This outfit is an archaeological work of tailoring, bringing to light an antique linen and hemp fabric from the early 1900s. An outfit designed for those seeking a tactile elegance, where every thread tells decades of Italian rural tradition, embellished with crocheted details that are true thread jewels.

Historic deadstock fabric. The antique linen and hemp fabric offers an inimitable texture, cool yet structured, with that typical natural slubbing that only early twentieth-century looms could create.

Both the vest and trousers are embellished with handmade crocheted doilies, applied to the fabric like pulsing hearts of craftsmanship.

Straight-cut vest with mother-of-pearl button closure, with heart-shaped doily appliques on the front.

Clean palazzo line trousers, designed to enhance the noble drape of the hemp fiber with a fly and zip fastening at the center front, side pockets embellished with crochet appliques, a straight and clean waistband at the front and with elastic at the back for greater comfort and fit.

Natural butter white color, obtained without aggressive chemical treatments, preserving the integrity of the century-old fibers.

The Radici outfit was born from the discovery of a forgotten piece of fabric in an old trunk.

How can a hundred-year-old fabric speak to a woman of today? The answer was contrast: the strength of the hemp and the transparency of the doily that belonged to a trousseau of another era.

Our philosophy here is historical layering. Applying an element of a trousseau over a work fabric (the cloth) is an act of ennoblement.

"In this garment, the heart is not hidden: it is applied on top, in plain sight. It represents our signature: a craftsmanship that is not afraid to show itself, that overlays different eras to create a beauty that is, first and foremost, a legacy."

Materials: antique hand-woven linen and hemp fabric. Cotton doily.

Technique used: "shuttle" manual loom weaving. The antique fabric was produced on wooden looms where the beating of the reed was impressed by the artisan's force. This gave the fabric an irregular density (slubbing), which today is the hallmark of the authenticity and value of historical deadstock. It resulted in a highly hygroscopic (moisture-absorbing), thermoregulating, and naturally antiseptic fabric.

"Linear stitch" application. Each doily is first hand-basted and then secured along its entire perimeter with small machine stitches, ensuring that the decoration remains flat and integral to the body of the vest and trousers, without creating wrinkles.

The French seam (also known as a closed seam) is the queen of tailoring finishes, especially when working with noble and historic fabrics such as linen and hemp cloth from the early 1900s.
