The pakemuu is a dress that originated in Hawaii between the 1930s and 1940s, inspired by the traditional dresses of Hawaiian women. Over time, it became an elegant and refined garment. While maintaining its original cut, it is unique and distinctive. The cut is clean with wide sleeves open at the elbow, a keyhole detail on the front embellished with a handmade oriental fabric button. Zipper closure at the back, hand-sewn. Ankle length with side slits.
This model is inspired by 1940s fashion, made modern and comfortable by the use of fabrics such as viscose, linen, or silk, chosen from high-fashion deadstock. These are valuable fabrics with limited availability. This choice is deliberate, aiming for more sustainable fashion while also offering exclusivity to the buyer.
Materials used: viscose.
Technique: handmade paper pattern, hand-sewn zipper, handmade oriental fabric button.
Unique piece size 42: bust 90 cm; waist 72 cm; hips 102 cm; ankle length. You can order a custom-made pakemuu dress, personalized with your choice of other available fabrics; in this case, once the order is complete, contact the artisan to take measurements and choose from the available fabrics. The garment is made remotely and does not require on-site fittings. Production time: 1 month.
